Team Meetings with Advisor

Each team will have a 20 minute meeting with an advisor and the instructor in the lecture room. Some advisors will not be familiar with your project, so you will need to be prepared to give a brief overview of your project.

  • Prepare a Project Status Report that includes:

    • Summary of Product Concept

    • Figure of concept

    • Customer discovery update. Include number of interviews, web polls, etc.

    • Cost estimate of product (low volume and high volume)

    • List of High risk technical issues

    • List of High risk marketing issues

    • Milestones and a Gantt Chart

    • Include a list of questions the team has which can relate to market research, fabrication, patents, etc.

  • Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Bring your hardware and indicate the hypotheses that you plan on testing with it.

    • Not all MVPs need to be functional, but they should allow you to test at least one hypothesis.

    • Some projects would require additional MVPs that cannot be built within MAE154, but at least one MVP should be built in MAE154.

  • Bring prior presentations with instructor's comments on them. Explain how you addressed comments.
