About the Sponsors:
Dr. Ma is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of General Academic Pediatrics. He is trained in both pediatrics and internal medicine and strongly believes in the importance of practicing comprehensive primary care as a way to maintain health and wellness. Dr. Ma is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and teaches regularly with the medical students as a facilitator for the Principles of Medicine course. During Dr. Ma's residency, he was awarded the Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award for being a resident role model in pediatrics.
Dr. Wang is an associate physician who works with families and children to create healthy lifestyles at the UC San Diego Academic General Pediatrics clinic. She believes that taking care of children is not just about practicing medicine, but also creating relationships and collaborations with her families and patients. Dr. Wang also provides care in the Newborn Nursery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UC San Diego Health Center locations at Hillcrest and Jacobs Medical Center, respectively. She works closely with residents and medical students at the UC San Diego Academic General Pediatrics Clinic to train the next generation of pediatricians. Dr. Wang also works with UC San Diego's Community Pediatrics group on research in obesity prevention and treatment.
