Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Start working on the literature review of each design idea
Start testing the purchased tank kit inside the artificial burrow
Finish the CAD of tank design and other components
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Finished literature review of Omni-directional wheel design and bio-inspired snake
Loaded testing of the purchased tank kit (theory)
Finished an initial design that would meet the requirements of the reel
Generate a CAD assembly file of the purchased tank kit
Found a suitable formula to calculate tether resistance
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Develop a theory for the tether friction and test: Yaz
Start purchasing the tools and other kits (tether or strings): Yaz
Each team member should start to purchase their own analysis component for testing: All team members
Literature review on the tank design: Jiuqi
Figure out how to apply soil to the artificial burrow to create a flat surface for testing the vehicle: Katie

Sponsors' comments & suggestions
Create a comparison analysis of spool vs. non-spool to vouch for one or the other
Let non-spool only a portion of the tether when it gets rough to make a turn
Try to find some information about DigiKey

Do not invest in angling treads yet; as long as it can move it is okay
Estimate force to overcome tether friction around the corner
Come up with new ideas to overcome that
Search online “calculating force on cable around the corner”

Risks and Areas of Concern
After the literature review, the Omni-directional wheel idea may not be realistic for this quarter due to high sophisticated design, poor adaptability, and less test can make.
Schedule
Main milestones to accomplish:
Finish literature review of different design ideas
Purchase the component for individual analysis
Finish testing on the purchased tank kits
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Spent: $0, nothing purchased
Remaining: $2566.67
Progress on Report and Webpage
The webpage is up to date
