1/24/2020 In-person
pupae are usually 2-3 mm in diameter, close to spherical in shape
larvae are 1 cm long, 1 mm wide diameter, close to a cylindrical shape
colored mosquitoes had changed into pupae quicker than expected
can test flow of water through system with regular pupae whenever we are ready
need to do safety training to work with the mosquitoes
three online safety courses
one 10 minute orientation on 1/28/2020

In-person during weekly team meeting (1/23/2020)
Use CNC to machine the center, can drill holes for water run-through (exist ~1mm drill)
Use cheaper material for prototype, Teflon is too expensive
If we need a finer mech, it might be hard to cut the rectangular opening at the gate
If use bearing for the rotating gate, choose small bearing
Use a flow-rate adjustable pump in the testing stage
can get a pump without motor, then control a separated motor using PWM
In-person with Chris (1/23/2020)
Printing the narrowing channel as a whole cost $300-$600
More ideal to make the large portion with acrylic pieces attached, then print the channel head and pipe fitting.
