Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Came up with experimental methods to test how the mosquitoes should be sorted.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Came up with experimental methods to test how the mosquitoes should be sorted.
Decided to not use computer vision system.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Have experimental procedures to kill male mosquitoes drawn up.
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Professor Winzeler's lab assistant, Jaeson Calla, showed us samples of mosquito pupae and showed us the current process of vacuuming adult mosquitoes. He also commented that male pupae are easier to kill than females. He also stated that we are studying anopheles stephensi.
From these comments we decided not to use computer vision and instead try to kill only the male mosquitoes
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
The instructor talked about using computer vision in our project.
Our group decided not to use computer vision and instead to try to kill all of the male mosquitoes and none of the female mosquitoes.
Risks and Areas of Concern
Figuring out how to kill only male mosquitoes and not killing female mosquitoes.
Figuring out how to automate the system.
Resources or Information Required but not Available
It is unknown at what point something will kill a male mosquito but not a female mosquito.
We will do experiments where we will find out how long it takes to kill male and female mosquitoes using if we drown the mosquitoes and put them in ethanol. In addition, we will find out how much electricity needs to be used in order to kill the pupae.

Do experiments week 10. Make the risk reduction presentation week 10/ finals week
