156A Finals Week
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
First version of design finished and ready for prototype.
Some minor design improvementÂ
Accomplishments from Previous Week
First version of design finished and some minor design improvement installed.
Prototyping began.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Work on prototype and make tests on the prototype:
Shihao Xu: 3D print the transducer gate and install rubber o-ring. Use the transducer to test its water tightness.
Shengkai Peng: Build the initial version of the tank. Minimize friction. Build transducer support.
Quan Chen: Estimate the proper gear ratio and laser cut the gear.
Qiaosong Liu: 3D print the gantry beam and supports to see if the vertical position can be adjusted properly; also check if the hollow part in the beam can hold the LED stably.
No much progress expected during this week due to finals.

Risks and Areas of Concern
Water leakage is still a problem for transducer gate. A third version of design is needed.
Friction between water tank and plate is more than expected. We need to redo calculation and gear ratio.
