Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Engineering analysis completed, we found that if we can fix the cradle as much as is possible to the bore, the cradle will vibrate at the bore's frequency, which is 50 hz. this is an acceptable distance from the target frequencies to avoid of 5hz and 1khz
Basic design has been completed, all that's left is to decide on how to fit the optical fiber into the cradle. We were thinking about using grooves to tunnel the fiber
Dr. Devor has bought a laser vibrometer that should be in on Monday, but we need to confirm with her.

Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Did not meet with sponsor last week but spoke via email concerning vibrometer, at which point she informed us that she had ordered it and it would be in on Monday (4/17/12)
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Air bearings: can't be used because they are almost always metal and large
We won't be using plastic flexures because we decided that fixing the cradle to the bore as much as possible would be a sufficient way to reduce frequencies

Risks and Areas of Concern
maintaining mouse comfort
use of a cantilever vs. encasing the cradle completely inside bore
Resources or Information Required but not Available
How to use the laser vibrometer
Schedule
We intend to have the cradle machined by the end of next week
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Nothing has been purchased yet but the mock bore tube will cost approximately $50
