156B Week 10

Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.

• • After Testing on Monday (6/4) final distance between air bladders has been determined, however the weight of the model has become an issue. We have a minimum size requirement, and are unsure that cutting the base down to size will provide enough weight-loss

  • One solution is to try to minimize material wherever possible- thinning out the base and creating a groove on the underside

  • Alternate solution is to balance the total weight between both bladders because the scanner is open on both ends

  • The small assemblies have been mounted onto the base

Accomplishments from Previous Week

• • Fabrication of all parts is completed- final positioning to be determined

  • Successful test of a cherry tomato on Monday (6/4)

Goals for Next Week- Completed by Friday (6/8)

• • Order and obtain 4-40 nylon knurled head thumb screws (Calvin)

  • Obtain a small range gage (Kristen)

  • Finalize Solidworks drawings and have them checked by Tom/Isaiah (Calvin)

  • Finalize poster (Kristen)

  • Finalize analysis (Kristen & Alex)

  • Finalize annotated CAD/Solidworks pictures (Alex)

  • Finalize budget form (Alex)

  • Finalize project website (Femi)

  • Finalize final design report (All)
