Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Design
Motor mount is finalized as a cantilever with tension cables, see figure below
Fabrication
Finishing fabrication of the wood supports
Motor and Motor Controller
Test for functionality
Accomplishments from Previous Week
6061-T8 2 inch diameter 0.12" wall aluminum tubes ordered
Acquired a laptop with LABVIEW
Completed most of the self-reacting frame
Bottom load frame complete
Ordered pulley system, just pulleys
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Self-Reacting Frame and Supports (Sergio)
Wood for the end supports
Need to cut down to size
Bore holes for some bolts to fit
Fasten to the rest of the self-reacting frame
Pillow block supports need to be machined (waiting on pillow blocks to arrive)
If pillow blocks are taking too long to arrive, let's machine anyway?
Load Frame (Jorge)
Machine holes for the two bottom load frame plates
Cap Screws
Need 2 cap screws
Machine cap screws
Get them to Greg to put on strain gauges
Machine Delrin/Teflon/Nylon blocks for top load frame plate angles
We have obtained scrap material, let's get the sizing and start machining
Machine top load frame (waiting on pillow blocks)
If pillow blocks arrive a bit later than assumed, let's machine anyway?
Machine top load frame plate angles
Assembly load frame with blind pop rivets
Drive system (Brandon and Jerry)
Order parts for the motor mount assembly
Angles, aluminum plate, wire
Machine necessary motor mount
Need wiring for the motor and motor controller (pick up from Graingers)
Test motor and motor controller (wire things up and write a simple program)
Bearings (Jerry)
Check up on order status, how many more days til they arrive?
