This week long excursion into inner city Memphis, Tennessee is the most demanding yet rewarding single activity the club has participated in, and contributed to. The fact that many of the same students and other club affiliates keep coming back year after year, in spite of the challenges of cramped "dorm type" living in, essentially, a fenced in "compound" and working in neighborhoods exhibiting the ultimate in poverty, drugs, and crime. We can generally provide this opportunity at no cost to the participants (excepting voluntary purchases of mementos and such), and accept those club affiliates not currently enrolled as students or serving on faculty-staff, space permitting: current BRCC students and employees have priority and our limit is generally 12 (van limit.)
We usually leave campus early on the Saturday following the first summer school session and return the following Saturday evening, between dinner time and midnight. Please see the attachments on this page for details and registration forms, and check this site for any updates on this trip.
Please see the accompanying sub-page(s) for pictures of previous Street Reach Mission Trips. Good stuff! :-)
