Welcome! This is the site for James N. Wright, ACSM, RCEP, Assistant Professor of Health and Physical Education, (retired as of August 1, 2016 as:) Director of Intramural Basketball and Intercollegiate (Club) Soccer, Department Chair for Health and Physical Education, and Faculty Adviser for Blue Ridge Christian Fellowship Student Club. My education, training, certification, and experience is primarily in the field of exercise physiology, having developed and directed adult fitness, therapeutic exercise, and cardiac rehabilitation programs for a number of hospitals, community, corporate, and private entities. I have also served on the faculties of 4 colleges, beginning in 1979, and coached a variety of sports at the youth, high school, and college level since the early 1970's.
I am a proud native of Blacksburg, Virginia, a proud Virginia Tech Alumnus, a proud father of 2 and grandfather of 2, a proud husband to my wonderful wife Wanda since 1973, and a proud resident, since 2005, of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
A briefer but more descriptive phrase which, I think, tells all about me you need to know, it this: I love my wife, my family, my job, my Valley, and my Lord, and unless they give me a really good reason to the contrary, my students and colleagues as well!
