1. Please spend about 15 minutes finishing up your slides on civil disobedience. Please make sure you have ONE fact or idea form the Gale Resources, which is linked here.

Directions for the slides:

• Copy the quotation onto your first slide, along with the individual’s name and date of birth.
• When and where did the person’s act(s) of civil disobedience take place?
• What specific societal issue(s) inspired him/her to commit civil disobedience?
• How much recognition (or notoriety) did the person receive as a result? What were the consequences for their actions?
• When viewed in hindsight, how successful were the actions? Was there a change in policy as a result? Did the acts bring the issues into focus for the public?
• Place list of links on the last slide!!!--One source must be from Gale Resources--Under TLC>Student Resources in Context

2. When you're finished, please complete the Close Reading pages re: "The Minster's Black Veil." These are being collected today.

3. Begin reading "The Fall of the House of Usher" for Monday--it's long, and you may need to read it twice, so do not wait until the last minute.
