Scholarship awards are issued on two levels in the amounts of $800 and $1200. These amounts may be applied toward tuition and/or

room and board at the college, university or technical-vocational school of your choice. Scholarship awards are renewable and may

be applied for on a yearly basis. All information provided shall be confidential.  Application

MercyOne Waterloo/Cedar Falls Foundation -

is offering scholarships to seniors or graduates who attend school in the following districts: Beckman, East Buchanan, Edgewood-Colesburg, Maquoketa Valley, Starmont, West Delaware,(or if they are residents of zip codes listed on the application) and are interested in pursuing a career in the health-related field.  Application is available in the high school office. https://www.mercyone.org/northeastiowa/giving/friends-scholarship 

Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education - 

The Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education will award scholarships of up to $3,000 each.  The students will have an interest in pursuing a career in the automotive industry or related field, attend Hawkeye Community College or NICC in Calmar/Peosta, and be a resident of one of the following counties:  Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Clayton, Dubuque, Fayette, Grundy or Jones. Iowa 4H Foundation - 

Iowa 4-H members are eligible to apply for 4-H scholarships if they meet individual scholarship requirements. Applicants must enroll as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours) to receive scholarship awards. Only ONE application form is needed for all Iowa 4-H scholarships. Eligible Iowa 4-H youth may apply for more than one scholarship, however, only one scholarship per individual will be awarded per academic year.  4-H Scholarship Application  

Aureon Scholarship -  

The Aureon Scholarship Program is available to students pursuing a STEM-related course of study after high school graduation and residing in a home with service from an Iowa Independent Telecommunications Company (ITC). The program will award a total of $10,000. Individual scholarships will range from $1,000 to $3,000.  Aureon Scholarship 

Iowa Grocery Industry Foundation Scholarship - 

This scholarship is in the amount of $1,800 for a child of a full-time employee, or $900 for a student that is a full-time or part-time employee of firms that are members of the Iowa Grocery Industry Association. An applicant that is a full-time or part-time employee must have worked at least 300 hours between July 1 and December 31. For more information, go to https://www.iowagrocers.com/scholarships.html.

VFW Scout of the Year Scholarship - 

program provides a $5,000, $3,000, and $1,000 scholarship to students who are registered, active members of a Boy or Girl Scout Troop, Venturing Crew, or a Sea Scout Ship and who have received the Eagle Scout Award, Girl Scout Gold Award, Venture Silver Award or Sea Scout Quartermaster Award.  Scouts must be 15 years of age and have demonstrated practical citizenship in school, scouting, and the community.  See www.vfw.org/Community/Scout-of-the-Year-Scholarship.    

Buchanan County Dairy Producers - postmark by

The Buchanan County Dairy Producers will award one $500 scholarship to a high school senior pursuing their eduction in an ag-related field. Stop by the Guidance Office for an application.

Ruth B. Sayre Scholarship  - 

is offered by Country Women’s Council (CWC) for the purpose of fostering educational development of women. Scholarship awards of $500 will be paid to the educational institution where is recipient is attending.  Application available at http://www.cwcusa.org/ruth-buxton-sayre-scholarship/.

Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program - 

is awarding scholarships in sum of $7,000-$22,000 to eligible students in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Student must have financial need, be involved in co-curricular and community activities, and have at least a 2.0 GPA. See  scholars.horatioalger.org for more information. 

Jim Hallihan Character Legacy Scholarship - 

Scholarships awarded from $1,000-$2,500 per recipient. Application open on January 5, 2025, which would have been Hallihan’s 80th birthday, and accepted through March 1, 2025. Recipients will be notified by May 3, 2025. Scholarships will be awarded $1,500 per recipient.

Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA)-

SEMA will award $1,000 to $4,000 to students with a minimum 2.5 GPA who are enrolled in a full-time program with an accredited university, college, or proprietary program in the United States or Canada. Student must be pursuing studies leading to a career in the automotive aftermarket or related field.  See www.sema.org/scholarships for an application.  

Alice Madden Barton Scholarship - March 1. 

program was created in memory of Alice Madden Barton, the mother of Great Clips CEO Ray Barton and President Rhoda Olsen.  Scholarships are available for current students, high school students and those pursuing a career in cosmetology or barbering. BE BOLD SCHOLARSHIP -

Buchanan County Pork Producers  - 

Buchanan County Pork Producers will award a $1,000 scholarship.  Parents must be members of the Buchanan County Pork Producers.  Applications are in Guidance Office.  

Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa - 

The Community Foundation is pleased to offer over $200,000 in scholarships throughout Iowa.   Full details are posted on the following website The online application is different from previous years.  After completing a common application, students will be automatically matched to all scholarships which they are eligible.

** Lowell E. & Agnes N. Walter Scholarship - 

will be awarded to two seniors attending a state (2 or 4 year) school.  The scholarship covers one year full tuition.  Application may be picked up in the Guidance Office.  

Mediacom Communications  - 

Mediacom Communications is offering 5 $1,000 scholarships to high school students in who live in a region serviced by North Central Division of Mediacom.  Applications may be obtained at www.mediacomworldclass.com .

Buchanan County Area Conservation and Natural Resources Scholarship  -

will award a limited number of scholarships in sums up to $1,500 to area residents currently enrolled as seniors in high school or at accredited college or universities.  Preference will be given to applicants who major in a conservation or natural resources-related field, have demonstrated interest in conservation and natural resources, and have been active in the community.  Applicant must reside in one of the following school districts:  East Buchanan, Jesup, Independence, North Linn, Oelwein, Wapsi Valley, or Starmont.  Stop in office for an application or download an application from the following website:  https://www.buchanancounty.iowa.gov/services/conservation/scholarships.php

**Carl R. Arnold Charitable Trust.  -

Proceeds from this trust will be given annually in the form of scholarships to graduating seniors who are pursuing education beyond high school in a two or four year accredited college program.  It is preferred that the scholarships be awarded to students pursuing studies in an agricultural-related field.  Three (3) scholarships, each in the amount of $2091.16, will be given.  Stop by the Guidance Office for an application. 

The Hagan Scholarship - 

The Hagan Scholarships are for high achieving students in need of financial assistance in order to attend college. Each Hagan Scholarship will help pay the unmet financial need of the recipient, up to $5,000 per semester. Pamphlets in the High School Office or  Hagan Scholarship

The UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship Program™ - 

provides financial support to encourage academic and personal achievement not just to people with epilepsy, but also to the family members and caregivers who contribute to their successes. UCB, Inc. awards thirty $5,000 scholarships a year, and, since 2005, has awarded over a half million dollars in scholarships. See www.ucbepilepsyscholarship.com. 

Student Day Merit Award Scholarship -

in sum of $1,000 will be awarded to Iowa United Methodist students who will attend/do attend a United Methodist college/university/seminary. Awards are for merit, in terms of academic performance, church (home church and/or campus ministries) and school/community involvement, financial need, special vocational preparation for ministry and other service.  Applicant must be nominated by his/her local church. First Friday Breakfast Club  - 

The First Friday Breakfast Club is an educational, non-profit group for gay, bisexual and transgender men. The non-profit group awards scholarships worth up to $3,000 to a senior who has demonstrated significant efforts in educating their schools and/or communities on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues, acceptance. and reduce homophobia.  Applications are available online or contact the counselor.

Ron Brown Scholar Program -

seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service activities and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be a US citizen or hold a permanent resident visa card. Each year, a minimum of ten students will be designated Ron Brown Scholars and will receive $10,000 annually for four years, for a total of $40,000. The recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or university of their choice within the United States. For information see https://ronbrown.org/. There are two deadlines for applications: November 1st - application will be considered for the Ron Brown Scholar Program AND forwarded to a select and limited number of additional scholarship providers.

Delaware County Republican Scholarship - Deadline March 23, 2025

The Delaware County Republican Central Committee is offering two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors whose principal place of residence is within Delaware County. Applications must plan on enrolling in an accredited post-secondary institution in the fall of 2025

Distinguished Young Women Scholarship - Deadlines vary.

The Robert Smiley Scholarship - 

in sum of $1,000 is offered by the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union and the Smiley Family in honor of longtime IGHSAU Associate Executive Secretary who passed away in 2003 to senior girls enrolled full-time in a public or private Iowa high school.  The recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.  She must also have lettered in one varsity sport sponsored by the IGHSAU each year of high school.  There was a special place in Bob’s heart for the underdog, because of this, extra attention will be given to applications showing a specific need.  Each school may have one nominee.  See Counselor for application.  

The American Legion of Iowa - 

annually awards the Eagle Scout of the Year award in sums of $500, $750, and $1,000.  The National American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year will receive a $10,000 scholarship.  Three additional scholarships will be awarded in sum of $2,500 each.  See ialegion.org/eagle_scout_of_the_year.htm or https://www.legion.org/scholarships/legacy 

Karon Brown Award - 

The Karon Brown Award was established in 2021 as a tribute to Karon Brown who served the IGHSAU in a variety of roles for 43 years. The recipient of this award is recognized for excellence in the classroom, in athletics and must plan on a future in a sports-related field. Her profile should reflect loyalty, perseverance, character, and passion for continuing a career serving female athletics. Those same qualities personified Karon Brown and her work for the IGHSAU. SFM Foundation Scholarship Opportunity- 

The SFM Foundation provides scholarship to students whose parents were killed or seriously injured in workplace accidents while working for Minnesota, Iowa or Wisconsin employers.  Up to $10,000 per year, for up to five years, would be a substantial difference for these students.  The application can be obtained at  www.sfmfoundation.com

Iowa PGA Foundation - 

$1,500 per year for four years at a college of university of student's choice. Application available in the Guidance office. 

Kirk Hageman Memorial Scholarship - 

The scholarship is open to high school senior from the state of Iowa who has been involved in wrestling, either as a wrestler, manager, or cheerleader and plans to attend college after high school.  They are also looking for a candidate who plans to stay involved in the sport of wrestling in some capacity.  Please write a short essay about how wrestling has impacted your life and how you plan to continue to be involved or give back to wrestling int he future.  Essays should also include your contact information as well as the email for your high school guidance counselor or athletic director.  Please include a copy of your high school transcripts, the recipients will be expected to maintain a 3.0 grade point average in the first semester of college and the $500 scholarhship will be awarded during the second semester. Septagon Construction Academic Scholarship -

Imagine America 

sponsored by the Career College Foundations, is a $1,000 career education award that is available to seniors who are pursuing an education at participating career colleges across the United States.  Each school may select up to three seniors to receive the scholarships.  Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater, financial need, and demonstrated voluntary community service during senior year.
