Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education -
The Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education will award scholarships of up to $3,000 each. The students will have an interest in pursuing a career in the automotive industry or related field, attend Hawkeye Community College or NICC in Calmar/Peosta, and be a resident of one of the following counties: Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Clayton, Dubuque, Fayette, Grundy or Jones. Iowa 4H Foundation -
Iowa 4-H members are eligible to apply for 4-H scholarships if they meet individual scholarship requirements. Applicants must enroll as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours) to receive scholarship awards. Only ONE application form is needed for all Iowa 4-H scholarships. Eligible Iowa 4-H youth may apply for more than one scholarship, however, only one scholarship per individual will be awarded per academic year. 4-H Scholarship Application
Aureon Scholarship -
The Aureon Scholarship Program is available to students pursuing a STEM-related course of study after high school graduation and residing in a home with service from an Iowa Independent Telecommunications Company (ITC). Iowa Grocery Industry Foundation Scholarship -
This scholarship is in the amount of $1,800 for a child of a full-time employee, or $900 for a student that is a full-time or part-time employee of firms that are members of the Iowa Grocery Industry Association. VFW Scout of the Year Scholarship -
program provides a $5,000, $3,000, and $1,000 scholarship to students who are registered, active members of a Boy or Girl Scout Troop, Venturing Crew, or a Sea Scout Ship and who have received the Eagle Scout Award, Girl Scout Gold Award, Venture Silver Award or Sea Scout Quartermaster Award. Ruth B. Sayre Scholarship -

Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program -
is awarding scholarships in sum of $7,000-$22,000 to eligible students in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Student must have financial need, be involved in co-curricular and community activities, and have at least a 2.0 GPA. See scholars.horatioalger.org for more information.
Jim Hallihan Character Legacy Scholarship -
Scholarships awarded from $1,000-$2,500 per recipient. Application open on January 5, 2025, which would have been Hallihan’s 80th birthday, and accepted through March 1, 2025. Recipients will be notified by May 3, 2025. Scholarships will be awarded $1,500 per recipient.
Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA)-
SEMA will award $1,000 to $4,000 to students with a minimum 2.5 GPA who are enrolled in a full-time program with an accredited university, college, or proprietary program in the United States or Canada. will award a limited number of scholarships in sums up to $1,500 to area residents currently enrolled as seniors in high school or at accredited college or universities. Preference will be given to applicants who major in a conservation or natural resources-related field, have demonstrated interest in conservation and natural resources, and have been active in the community. Proceeds from this trust will be given annually in the form of scholarships to graduating seniors who are pursuing education beyond high school in a two or four year accredited college program. It is preferred that the scholarships be awarded to students pursuing studies in an agricultural-related field. Three (3) scholarships, each in the amount of $2091.16, will be given. Student Day Merit Award Scholarship -

The non-profit group awards scholarships worth up to $3,000 to a senior who has demonstrated significant efforts in educating their schools and/or communities on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues, acceptance. and reduce homophobia. Ron Brown Scholar Program -
seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service activities and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be a US citizen or hold a permanent resident visa card. Each year, a minimum of ten students will be designated Ron Brown Scholars and will receive $10,000 annually for four years, for a total of $40,000. The recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or university of their choice within the United States. For information see https://ronbrown.org/. The Robert Smiley Scholarship -
in sum of $1,000 is offered by the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union and the Smiley Family in honor of longtime IGHSAU Associate Executive Secretary who passed away in 2003 to senior girls enrolled full-time in a public or private Iowa high school. The recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. She must also have lettered in one varsity sport sponsored by the IGHSAU each year of high school. There was a special place in Bob’s heart for the underdog, because of this, extra attention will be given to applications showing a specific need. Each school may have one nominee. The American Legion of Iowa -
annually awards the Eagle Scout of the Year award in sums of $500, $750, and $1,000. The National American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year will receive a $10,000 scholarship. The Karon Brown Award was established in 2021 as a tribute to Karon Brown who served the IGHSAU in a variety of roles for 43 years. The recipient of this award is recognized for excellence in the classroom, in athletics and must plan on a future in a sports-related field. The SFM Foundation provides scholarship to students whose parents were killed or seriously injured in workplace accidents while working for Minnesota, Iowa or Wisconsin employers. Kirk Hageman Memorial Scholarship -
The scholarship is open to high school senior from the state of Iowa who has been involved in wrestling, either as a wrestler, manager, or cheerleader and plans to attend college after high school. They are also looking for a candidate who plans to stay involved in the sport of wrestling in some capacity. Please write a short essay about how wrestling has impacted your life and how you plan to continue to be involved or give back to wrestling int he future. Essays should also include your contact information as well as the email for your high school guidance counselor or athletic director.
