Brewarrina Partnership

The Brewarrina Partnership Commenced in 2014 with a visit by Magdalene staff to the remote NSW town of Brewarrina to meet locals and discuss with staff at St Patrick's Catholic Primary school what might be possible through a partnership between the two schools. What evolved from this visit is a program that allows for cultural exchange and an opportunity for a growing awareness for staff and students from both schools for the variety of social and cultural issues in both communities. The partnership has seen Magdalene students visit Brewarrina and connect with the primary school students. This visit occurred in 2015 with a number of Year 11 students visiting and immersing themselves forming life long connections. In 2016 students from St Patrick's Brewarrina visited Magdalene and Sydney - (see article below for more details). In 2017 Year 11 students visited Brewarrina and Bourke - see the video below to hear about their experience.

Now in 2019 Magdalene is gearing up once again to head in to Rural NSW and connect with Brewarrina. Leaving in Term 3, 17 year 11 students will travel on the Magdalene mini bus to meet and connect with locals. Watch this space for updates!
