Mission at Magdalene

To be a Christian (and indeed to be a good person) means that we share responsibility for each other's happiness and welfare. The example of Jesus tells us that reaching out to those in need is one of the most important things we can do to make God's "kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven".

At Magdalene Catholic College, all students are encouraged to reach out and make a difference to their local community and beyond. The aim is to create a community that cultivates HOPE, MERCY and PEACE through word and action.

Staff and Students engage in a range of activities that support the local community and community organisations including St Vincent De Paul, Catholic Mission and the Children's Hospital at Westmead to name a few. Support is achieved through both fund raising activities and more importantly acts of social justice and solidarity such as the Vinnies Winter Sleep Out, Vinnies Kitchen, Catholic Mission appeals and Hospital Heroes Day.

Through these activities and spiritual development opportunities such as Twilight retreats, reflection days and pastoral days the school aims to develop an active faith within the Magdalene Community.
