CITE 6: Specialized Service Professionals(SSPs)

As required by Senate Bill 10-191, Specialized Service Professionals (SSPs) must complete the CITE 6 process. Specialized Service Professionals have slightly different models and processes for completing CITE 6. To learn more about these differences, and the answers to some of the FAQs about specialized service professionals, continue reading.

Who are SSPs?

Audiologists, Counselors, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Speech Language Pathologists

  • How does the CITE 6 model for Specialized Service Professionals (SSPs) compare to teacher models?

All teacher models include both an individual attribution, representing the impact of an individual teacher on student growth, and a collective attribution, representing the impact of all teachers within a school on student growth.

The state requirements for SSPs are different than they are for teachers. SSPs are not required to have a collective attribution. Therefore, most SSP models have only an individual attribution, meaning the assessments the SSP decides to include are the only assessment data that is used for CITE 6. During the 2015 - 2016 school year, Speech Language Pathologists wanted to mirror their school models, so they had a model similar to teachers; 40% Individual, 10% Collective.

Since the 2016 - 2017 school year, ALL SSPs have had the option to choose either the model associated with their predominant location/school, or choose a Wilcox SSP model.

SSPs who elect to use a model associated with a school will have both a 40% Individual Attribute with individually collected data, and a 10% Collective Attribute representing their predominate school's collective data.

SSPs who elect to choose a Wilcox SSP model can select Wilcox - SSP, placing them in a 50% Individual Attribute model.

  • Do assessments for SSPs need to be qualified in the Assessment Library?

SSPs may be using assessments or metrics regarding a student’s “access to” academic learning outcomes. The assessment calculator is designed for academic purposes, and is not designed to evaluate the quality of many of these metrics. For this reason, SSPs do NOT need to qualify their assessments in the assessment library for the purposes of CITE 6.

A template has been created for all SSPs to use in the assessment library. A SSP can search for the "CITE 6 SSP Template" in the district's assessment library by searching "All Assessments." Once found, make a copy to place the template into your own assessment library. This will provide you access to the "assessment" for the purposes of the Student Learning Objective (SLO) process.

Those SSPs wishing to use the Student Outcome Objective (SOO) process will simply select "Create New SOO" after selecting "Add Assessment" within the Student Performance Tab in InspirED.

  • How do SSPs enter data into InspirED?

Since 2017, Specialized Service Professionals can either use a Student Learning Objective (SLO) similar to other educators, or they can use a Student Outcome Objective (SOO). The resources that follow provide examples, and outline key differences between an SLO and SOO:

What model and process do Preschool SSPs follow?

In InspirEd Preschool SSPs need to indicate that their school location is Early Childhood Education and they need to follow the ECE CITE 6 Model: SLO Process - Guidance document. You may contact your ECE coordinator/director if you need more guidance.
