ELKY Learning Targets:

I can demonstrate playing posture and hand position.

I can utilize both hands independently to perform simple melodies and accompaniments. 

I can read Melodic Notation, playing notes in both the treble staff and bass staff. 

I can read rhythmic notation including whole notes, dotted half notes, half notes, dotted quarter notes, quarter notes, eighth notes, sixteenth notes, triplets and the corresponding rests. 

I can read and perform expressive notation symbols including crescendo, decrescendo, pp, p, mp, mf, f, ff, tied notes and slurs.

I can play the C, G, and F Major scales and the A, E, and D minor scales with the correct fingering.

I can play the Magic Four Chords:  I IV V7 vi  chord progressions.

I can add chords to a melody lead sheet.

I can coordinate my playing with another student in a duet or ensemble.

I can perform a concert piece for the class.

I can improvise a Question and Answer composition.

I can create a Theme and Variation composition.
