I encourage all of you to spend more time this year studying for Social Studies. It is more difficult then last year's curriculum. For each chapter, there will be a quiz half way through and a test at the end. The quiz consists of 10 multiple choice questions, all vocabulary, and 2-3 short answer response questions that usually pertain to our classroom discussions.
Some studying tips...
1. Flash cards for vocabulary
2. Reread lessons that have been discussed in the classroom. Don't forget that the online textbook will read to you.
3. Ask your parents to create some review questions for you to work on.
4. Start studying when I put the quiz or test date on the homework board.
5. Use the study guide to prepare for the tests.
6. PLEASE do not wait until the night before!
**On the website for our Social Studies textbook, there are additional resources that are great for review of the material in our curriculum. When you login to our textbook, on the left side there is a link for "The Learning Site." If you click on that, it will take you to a page that has different programs. Click on the Harcourt Horizons emblem. This will take you to a list of different resources through the publisher involving our American history including games and activities.
