Welcome to 5th grade
Language Arts!
We will be studying some Parts of Speech such as proper nouns, common nouns, possessive nouns, plural nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. Here you will find a few links to help with review.
Common Nouns: a person, place, thing, or idea.
Proper Nouns: a specific person, place, thing, or idea. You always capitalize these!
Possessive Nouns: nouns that show ownership. You will see an apostrophe with these.
Plural Nouns: more than one person, place, thing, or idea.
Verbs: words that show action or being.
Adjectives: words that describe nouns.
Adverbs: words that describe verbs.

- Follow the district resource page to Study Island. I have created a few "assignments" that are for studying these parts of speech. It won't be graded/checked off. It's just there for practice.
- Visit BrainPop. There are videos reviewing the different parts of speech. The username is washington64. The password is wildcats.
