Paying for College
Search for Scholarships (Naviance, CCR update, free search services like scholarships.com, fastweb.com, goingmerry.com, college’s website)
Submit FAFSA (this is a graduation requirement to file or do the waiver)
Submit CSS Profile (if your college requires it).
Evaluate Your Options: Make a final visit and work with parents/guardians to consider all factors (cost, distance from home, quality of programs, housing options, etc.).
Make an Enrollment Deposit by May 1st: If the deposit is not made by May 1st, you risk losing your spot at the college of your choice. If you know where you will attend before May 1st, it is helpful to notify the college at that time and inform the other colleges where you are NOT planning to attend that you will NOT be coming. This helps colleges with their admission numbers and may allow students placed on the waitlist, to be admitted. It is considered a violation of admission practices to deposit at more than one school after May 1st. Do NOT do this!
