District 219 Internet Safety Lesson
Description
This lesson is designed to increase student awareness of social networking. The primary objective of this lesson is to equip students with knowledge that will enable them to make responsible choices regarding the use of social networks found on the Internet.
This lesson is comprised of two key elements:
1. The video delivered via District 219's Flash Video Server.
2. Optional discussions at the conclusion of each video facilitated by the instructor.

The objective of this lesson enable students to:
• Identify key general attributes of social networks.

Introductory discussion (optional)
Ask students to define what they know about social networks. Social networks are groups of individuals with common interests such as, music, or gaming. Who interact on the Internet.
