SUMMER
ORCHESTRA 2024
WHAT
CVYO’s Summer Orchestra offers 3 levels for string players, so all musicians find their right fit making lively and challenging music together. Join the crew with delightful scores that tend toward pop, along with a variety of other skills and styles. This program ends with a mid-day concert and a fun afternoon outing.
WHEN
Tuesday evenings - June 11, 18, 25, July 2, 9 with a final concert at 11am on July 12 followed by a super fun outing to the arcade + bowling alley in Northfield.
WHERE
CVYO rehearses at Emmaus Church @ 712 Linden Street North in Northfield.
COST
$125 for Summer Orchestra (includes t-shirt). $300 if the student also is participating in Chamber Camp. $5 sibling discount.

SUMMER
Chamber Camp 2024
WHAT
CVYO'S Summer Chamber Music Camp welcomes string players with 1+ years of playing and note-reading experience all the way through high school graduates. Together we practice, play, and perform during an intensive week of hot takes and seasonal scores, sharing stands and forming musical friendships.
All students in this 1-week intensive play in two groups: a mixed chamber ensemble (string quartet or trio, based on level) and an instrument choir (all-camp violin/viola or cello/bass). Camp includes a daily master class, during which students learn to offer each other constructive feedback on their playing. This camp ends with a Final Concert and fun afternoon outing.
Katherine Canon, area cello instructor, leads this camp along with sectional string teachers. No chamber music experience required.
WHEN
July 8-12, with a Final Concert at 11am on July 12 followed by a super fun outing to the arcade + bowling alley in Northfield.
