CVYO placement auditions are a wonderful chance for students to play their instruments so that we can meet, greet, and get to know you! At these get-togethers, our staff and board act as supportive listeners, and get excited to match every player with their best-fit among our 3 string ensembles for the season. We conduct short (10 minute) placement auditions for both the Fall and Spring sessions.
Live auditions work best for everyone. If your family calendar doesn't synch with CVYO's audition schedule, let us know and we'll figure out an alternative that's in-person or via video.
Placement auditions are free. We're delighted to meet you!

EVALUATIONS
EVALUATIONS
CVYO loves to hear students play during their placement auditions. We intend these sessions to be supportive, non-stressful, and a welcoming chance to match players together in ensembles.
Our music director, board, and community members often take part in auditions, in order to get acquainted with and properly place students. Our evaluations are based on each player's pitch accuracy, tone, correct rhythm, artistic expression, posture, bow hold, left hand position, bow distribution, and the level of difficulty of their prepared solo. We want players to enjoy themselves and do well!
