Cannon Valley Youth Orchestra loves to work and play with young musicians, advancing artistic skills and studying exciting music together. We invite string players with at least 1 year of experience (ages 8-18) to bring your violins, violas, cellos, and basses and join our ensembles.

Based in Northfield, Minnesota, CVYO's 3 orchestras draw adventurous kids from around the Cannon Valley who enjoy playing beyond their home studios and school orchestras.

Inspired and instructed by our professional conductor and an array of guest artists, they tackle challenging techniques and fun repertoire together.

SPRING 2026

Join us!  Our spring session starts with an Audition Day so that our Music Director can place new students in the appropriate orchestra.  This will be in the afternoon of Saturday, January 17.  We will have a sign up for a 10 minute slot... just email us for the link.  See our Auditions page for the music your student should prepare!  This is meant to be a positive, encouraging experience. Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, January 27 and finish with the concert on Saturday, April 11 at 3pm.
