Cushings Island Conservation Corporation

Cushings Island Conservation Corporation was established in 1980 and, as of 2011, holds about 142 acres of land on Cushings Island, one of the harbor islands in the City of Portland, Maine.

The purposes of the corporation are to promote and advance the conservation of wild or undeveloped land and the preservation of scenic areas and landmarks. A specific purpose of the corporation is to acquire and hold land on islands in Casco Bay in order to preserve, protect, and enhance the entrance to Portland harbor by preserving the undeveloped scenic beauty of acquired lands.

The Forestry Plan that was developed for the CICC in 2012 is available below.
