Module 1: A way of working and a way of thinking about CLCP
Exercise 1: Reflect on Amber’s story
Reflect on Amber's story: make links between Amber's story and your own experience and begin to draw your own lessons.
Here are two ideas from the story that have challenged us to reflect on how we saw the world. You are welcome to start with one of these or it is perfectly OK to choose some other part of the story.
"We came with good intentions. We came to offer solutions to life's problems to those we presumed could do nothing for themselves."
or
"We were then encouraged to consider the communities we were about to visit not in terms of inadequacies but rather to focus on the strengths, achievements and successes."

Exercise 2: Reflect on personal experience
Can you remember a time when someone told you about what you were not good at? How did that feel?
Can you remember a time when somebody appreciated your strengths? What did that feel like?
Can you remember a time when you explored the strengths of someone else? And what did that feel like?

Exercise 3: Reflect on the other readings
In Exercise 1, you reflected on Amber's story which is the main story in the readings. Reflect on the other reading and once again try to link them to your own experiences to draw your own conclusions.
