Personal Safety and Healthy Childhood Sexual Development
Resources for Parents and Caregivers
This resource page has been curated over the past nine years as a result of questions and concerns expressed by caregivers wanting support when their children ask about difficult topics. Please keep in mind that not all of these resources will speak to each individual/family; some may not align with your family culture, beliefs, values, or religious/spiritual beliefs. However, all have been selected with the most current understanding of child development as it relates to these topics. For all children's books - please read them yourself before you read them with your child, so you can identify where you might feel uncomfortable, vocabulary words you might need to preview with your child, and to anticipate questions your child might ask. Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at kimberly.thibodeau@colchestersd.org.
