Description. Small groups provide opportunities for additional learning experiences and growing connections with peers. Groups are activity-based and skill-focused - often aligning with a CASEL competency. Small groups give students a chance to belong, a chance to express themselves, and a chance to benefit from the support of group members.
Referral Process. Students are referred to small group counseling based on a number of factors including classroom observations; parent, teacher/staff, or self-referral; and data points. Additionally, students may be invited to attend a group as a peer buddy.
Caregiver Referral. If you think your child could benefit from participation in a small group, please contact your child's classroom teacher or email me directly.
Schedule. Groups meet 1x/week or 2x/week for 20-30 minutes. Students will not be pulled from UA, recess, lunch, or direct instruction time.
