ShopBot

This is the process of me making the pencil holder.

The rendered file on Fusion 360

Conclusion

I didn’t have very much trouble making this on Fusion 360; we mainly used skills we already knew. However, we did use one new tool: Rectangular pattern. This tool is very useful if you are repeating the same shape several times and speeds up the process of making something, instead of recreating the same shape over and over again. When using the ShopBot, I didn’t have much difficulty running the machine. Similarly, I sanded everything and trimmed the edges of my wooden block with little difficulty.

If I were to do this project again, I would try to make the holder a little more usable. Having the pencils/pens stand up is slightly impractical as well as ominous.

These are the files I used for the pencil holder. The sbp is the file I uploaded to the ShopBot, and the f3d is the file I made of Fusion 360 to make the sbp file.
