Introduction
CHA staff can access IT resources remotely, but must do so following CHA guidelines. Staff are encouraged to review the various policies that CHA has in place, including the Security Agreement which all staff sign, prior to using remote access:
Security Agreement (available when logged in onsite at CHA)
Remote Access, policy A-ISN-0004 (available when logged in onsite at CHA)
NOTE: management approval is necessary before any staff receive remote access permissions.
You can tell if you have remote permissions by looking yourself up on:
Staffnet
People Profiles
and at “Active Directories” checking if the following three permissions are listed:
CHA Terminal Services
Remote Access
Remote Access - MacOS Users
If these permissions are present, you can follow these instructions now.
If the three permissions are not listed: your manager must submit, on Staffnet, an “IT Request”, selecting “Remote Access”, and completing the entirety of that request. That will then route for managerial approval within your department, and then to the Security Group in IT for provision of permissions. Once your account permissions have been updated, User Access sends you an email informing you (with link to these instructions).
AGAIN, NOTE: Google Gmail and the rest of CHA’s Google tools are available to all staff when offsite (no special permissions required) without having to use any aspect of CHA's formal VPN remote access process.
Check the Topic GOOGLE for detail on how you can easily log into your CHA Google account when outside CHA.
