Goodbye, Mr. Barbour; Hello, Mrs. Curle

After teaching at South View and serving as the IB Coordinator for over ten years, Mr. Steven Barbour left the View to move his family and teach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His departure affected the IB Academy in many ways. Not only was he a beloved IB Coordinator, but he also taught IB History of the Americas, 20th Century Topics and Theory of Knowledge - all positions that had to be filled by his departure. The new IB Coordinator is Mrs. Dawn Curle who has been with the IB Academy since it began in 1999. She is a National Board Certified Teacher with a Master's Degree in English Education who has been teaching for sixteen years. She will continue to teach IB Language A1: Literature to both the IB juniors and seniors as well maintain her role as Yearbook Adviser.
