Group 4: Experimental Sciences Excursion

Post date: Nov 16, 2014 1:58:43 AM

Juniors in Ms. Roseberry's IB Environmental Systems class and Ms. Edward's IB Biology class joined forces to complete an IB Group 4 project at the Lumber River State Park. Proving to be unseasonably cold on the November 1, 2014 night, the students pitched their tents and braved freezing temperatures over night in order to learn more about the local environment. Utilizing the "no footprint" philosophy, students adhered to the eco-friendly practice of hiking the trails - identifying plants and animals along the way without harming the environment. Their efforts were rewarded later that night when they roasted marshmallows around a warming fire. Working together, the juniors and seniors helped each other complete the project and many new friends were made

along the way.
