Confidentiality

Members of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Services must sign a confidentiality agreement. As part of their in-service training, they will be made aware of their obligations and responsibilities with regards to issues of privacy and confidentiality.

Policies

Consequently, Chaplains and Pastoral Care Workers

  1. observe the requirements of confidentiality, professional ethics and the requirements of privacy laws,

  2. accept and operate within the guidelines of the Code of Conduct appropriate to their relevant public health organisation and the NSW Health Privacy Manual

  3. are bound by the terms of the

    • Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 and

    • Health Records and Information Privacy Amendment (Accredited Chaplains) Regulation 2008.
