During the switch checklist

The switch itself will take place in stages throughout the first half of January 2012. The below outline and checklist items will let you know what you need to do to ensure a smooth transition. A complete outline of what migrates, when is also available for quick reference. You may also print a copy of the checklist for reference.

The first stage of migration

January 3 - January 13, 2012; 9:00 a.m.

During this stage Information Technology will start to copy email and calendar events prior to December 1, 2011, and all contacts from GroupWise to Google Apps. [ ] Do NOT modify older appointments and email, or delete contacts

As portions of your content migration are already in progress “behind the scenes,” please do NOT modify existing appointments and emails, or edit contacts until after the switch to Google Apps. More...

When your Casper College Google Apps account was created for the pre-migration stage, any personal Google accounts created with your @newschool.edu email address will become conflicting accounts. More...

The second stage of migration

January 13; 5:00 p.m - January 17, 2012; 8:59 a.m.

During this stage Information Technology will migrate your most recent email, calendar events and remaining contacts. More...

[ ] Stop using GroupWise at 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 2012

Do NOT send mail or create calendar events using GroupWise after 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 2012. At this point, all new mail will be directed to your Casper College Google Apps account. If configured for a mobile device you should refrain from use of your Casper College email on that device until you have reconfigured your device for your Google Apps account. More...

If you can suspend use of your email through the weekend, please do so. If you need to access your email during the weekend, you must use your Casper College Google Apps account, not GroupWise. More...
