CFS Operations Team Leader

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The CFS Operations Leader coordinates the efforts of the Produce, Proteins, and Dairy Coordinators; they are responsible for the successful execution of all CFS receiving and packing processes.  They train CFS workshifters and new student staff in the full range of CFS work processes.  They manage physical inventory by rotating, trimming, and discarding spoiled goods, identify inventory anomalies and packing/delivery errors, record damage or lost items, and work with CFS Supervisor to implement new workflows to reduce the incidence of loss, damage, and theft.  They maintain clean, sanitary, and organized working areas and tools, advise on equipment needs, and complete Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Safety Checklists.  They ensure items in CFS are properly recycled, composted, and/or discarded and help CFS Supervisor coordinate and schedule cleanliness tasks, along with other duties, as assigned by the CFS Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:  Must be reliable and punctual, have excellent organizational skills, and a willingness/ability to supervise and train others.  You must be able weigh, count items, and keep accurate records.  You must have an eye for cleanliness and safety and be able to use and clean sharp instruments safely.  You must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and work with cold/frozen items and animal products.  Previous experience with foodservice operations and/or supervising and leading a team preferred.  Required scheduling availability:  Three days a week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 1pm.

HOURS/PAY:  This is a 15-hour/week position, compensated with a rent credit at the workshift rate for 10 hours/week and fulfilling your five-hours/week workshift requirement. Apartment residents will receive an additional rent credit stipend for the five workshift hours, as this job does not replace the workshift requirement at the apartments. If for whatever reason this job begins mid-semester, the stipend will be prorated. This position starts in Fall and lasts indefinitely, although you would not work during the summer (as CFS operates only during Fall & Spring Semesters). This job is eligible for work-study compensation.
