DUTIES: Coordinate recycling, reduction, reuse, and composting activities within the BSC. Train and inform Workshift, Maintenance, and Kitchen Managers about pertinent recycling duties. Train, inform and maintain regular communication with Waste Reduction Managers and workshifters about specific recycling duties, and hold monthly informational meetings to discuss recycling/re-use issues.

REQUIREMENTS: You must be willing and able to drive a truck (automatic), have a valid California Driver’s License and a good driving record. You have to be willing and able to lift 50 lbs. and occasionally more than that. You have to be good at dealing with people, communicating, educating, etc. You need to be well-organized, reliable, responsible, show good judgment and able to work independently. You must have knowledge of recycling & re-use programs. While some of the duties require you to work outside of the warehouse, your schedule must allow you to hold office hours for at least 8 hours/week during regular CFS office hours – Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm. You cannot be on the Board of Directors or hold a compensated unit-level manager position and hold a central level job. You must be a current BSC member to hold this position.

HOURS/CREDIT: This is an 12-hour/week position, compensated with a rent credit stipend at $22.00/hour for 7 hours/week and fulfilling your five-hours/week workshift requirement. Apartment residents will receive an additional rent credit stipend for the five workshift hours (at $22.00/hour), as this job does not replace the workshift requirement at the apartments. If for whatever reason this job begins mid-semester, the stipend will be prorated.  This job is eligible for work-study compensation.
