Finals/Exemptions

FINAL EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY
Students may be eligible to exempt certain final exams based on grade level, attendance, tardies, and the semester grade average for the class. Students who have a 90 or above can have no more than 3 absences; students who have an 80-89 may have no more than 2 absences.  Additionally, a student who has violated the Student Code of Conduct is not eligible to be exempt from any final exam.  EOC courses are not eligible for exemptions in the fall semester.

9th graders can exempt 4 final exams in the spring semester only.

10th graders can exempt 2 final exams in the fall semester and 4 final exams in the spring semester.

11th graders can exempt 2 final exams in the fall semester and 4 final exams in the spring semester. 

12th graders can exempt 2 final exams in the fall semester and all 7 in the spring semester.


PROCESS
Students must follow this process in order to exempt final exams.  This process begins part-way through the last six weeks in each semester.  More information will be posted here as it becomes available.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR EXEMPTING STUDENTS
  • ALL students must report to every exam period.
  • Students with exemptions still report to their regular classroom for the exam period.
  • Students who have a ride off campus are dismissed after the 4th period final exam on Thursday and after the 1st period final exam on Friday.
  • Students who ride a bus will report to class after the last exam on Thursday and on Friday; they will catch their bus home at the normal time.
