Hello Class of 1995!
Today marks EXACTLY 6-months out from our 25th Reunion....in honor of that milestone, the Reunion Committee is pleased to launch an exclusive Class of 1995 Online Store, including a selection of T-shirts in men's, women's and kids' sizes. All proceeds from the sale of these Class of '95 T's will go into our class fund to defray some reunion costs. We are working hard to create a really terrific reunion weekend in the hopes that as many people as possible will be able to join us in Providence next May!
UPDATE: All items will ship after the store closes on February 24th (Midnight Feb 23rd).
The original, colorful T-shirt design is created by the Class of 1995's own Atabey Sánchez-Haiman! If you don't know her, Atabey was born and raised in sunny and colorful Puerto Rico then moved to Michigan as a teenager. After getting a degree in Biology from Brown, she moved to the UK to attend Veterinary School. While in Europe, she caught the travel bug and put her veterinary studies on hold. In Spain she was inspired to start painting -- she loved it so much that she decided to change careers and become an artist.
After many years of travel, Atabey returned to Rhode Island to work on her art. Four years ago she opened the Giraffes and Robots Studio at the Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket. Her palette consists predominantly of oranges, reds and yellows -- as it turns out, these colors are scientifically proven to make people happy!!!
Her pop art take on Rhode Island's landmarks and icons earned her a Rhode Island Monthly Editor's Choice "Best of Rhode Island Award" for Stylish Rhode Island Posters. Her art is in collections all over the world, adding a pop of color to many homes, schools, offices, restaurants and more. In addition, each guest room at the Graduate Providence hotel will soon display a piece of artwork by Atabey, who won a contest competing against 70 other talented artists.
Be sure to look for Atabey's works when you are back in Providence for Reunion. Her "Giraffes and Robots" pop art is sold at West Elm Providence, Homestyle, Craftland, Cluck, Stock Culinary Goods, Providence Picture Frame, 20 Stories Bookstore, and Henry Bear's Park Toy Store.
We hope to see you all soon!
