While we were not able to travel back to campus this spring, we did come together virtually this Memorial Day weekend and celebrate the Ever True spirit of the Brown Community! (And yes, that included a dance party!)
Saturday, May 23: Class of 1995 Virtual Dance Party Recap
“If we can’t go to College Hill, let's bring College Hill to us“ — that was the rallying cry of Joelle Murchison and Ruth Neighbors, first-year roommates in West Andrews and architects of Brown’s First-Ever 25th Reunion Virtual Dance Party - In Zoomo Speramus!
Thank you to the 154 classmates who Zoomed together on Saturday night. We paid tribute to classmates who've passed away, reminisced with friends, watched a special Class of 1995 video montage, and rocked out to the sweet sounds of the '90's thanks to the awesome DJ Ronn P who skillfully spun a class-compiled collection of songs (did someone say Spin Doctors?!?!?). To hear the full list of favorites that provided the soundtrack to our time at Brown, check out the playlist on SPOTIFY. Photos, the video montage, and much more can be seen here on our class website s well as our 1995 Instagram, and 1995 Facebook.
It is said that necessity is the mother of invention, and it was clear on Saturday that the Class of 1995 needed to connect now more than ever. Although we were unable to be in Providence, Zoom allowed us to commemorate our 25th reunion after all.
We have a truly terrific class and it was great to see so many smiling faces. As a testament to our terrific-ness, we are close to beating all prior Brown 25th reunion fundraising records. However, to reach #1 in participation, our most important goal, we need 302 additional NEW donors who have not yet given this academic year to make a gift by June 30th. We only have another month so please join us by giving any amount - even $5 - to any area of the Brown Annual Fund including the Student Emergency Support Fund. Please consider making a gift and reach out to classmates to do the same! We can do it!
Stay tuned for more fun 1995 events over the next year leading up to our rescheduled in-person celebration in May 2021.
Until then, stay safe, stay healthy and stay ever true....
