Yoga

  • I introduce students to yoga as a physically and mentally beneficial lifetime wellness activity.
  • Students explore the physical, cognitive, social, and affective benefits of yoga.
  • Emphasis is placed on the "mind body connection", mindfulness for children, how calming the body helps calm the mind, discussion of negative feelings (sad, anger, stress, anxious) & the ability of yoga to help you feel better by feeling strong in mind and body.
  • Students learn breathing techniques to help foster the child's capacity for self-understanding and self-regulation in order to achieve positive goals in body and mind.
