Assessment
My student assessment is aligned with national and/or state physical education standards and established grade-level outcomes. As the students are practicing the skills, I circle the gym and give individual and group feedback. I step in to model if a student needs re-direction or clarification and utilize peer coaching. When the skill or activity ends, students return to our meeting area to reflect upon what we have done and use other strategies such as turn and talk with a partner/small group.
I am committed to the holistic development of all students and designing lessons and assessments that focus on the whole child, with lifetime wellness as the ultimate goal. My physical education program enables students to transform natural curiosity and movement exploration into critical thought and meaningful action. Throughout the entire lesson, there are meaningful connections to apply what we are learning in P.E. to the real world and these goals are communicated to families.
