Lieutenant Colonel David Wallace flew Cobra helicopters in the Vietnam War and spent a total of twenty-one years in the United States Army. He was decorated personally for heroism seven times: three Distinguished Flying Crosses, an Air Medal for Valor, three Crosses of Gallantry, nineteen additional air medals for flying combat missions, and a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. His unit, Task Force Gary Owens, received the Presidential Unit Citation, which is the highest unit award that can be presented for heroism.
David has been married to his wife, Karen, for fifty years, and they currently reside in Leachville, AR. He continues his public service today by serving as a State Senator in the Arkansas State Legislature.
