Benefactors

See below for information about the generous benefactors for our 2020 program. Please support these local businesses and organizations in our community and thank them for their commitment to literacy!

The Believe in Reading Foundation generously donated $3,000 to Bellefonte READS! The funds will be used to purchase books for our "One Book, One Bellefonte" initiative. Without their support, we wouldn't be able to provide so many free books to the community. 

The State College Branch of the AAUW generously donated $1,700 to Bellefonte READS! The funds will be used to purchase books for our "One Book, One Bellefonte" initiative. This is the 5th year that the AAUW has supported Bellefonte READS. Without their support, we would not be able to provide so many free books to the community. 

Bellefonte Area School District faculty and staff can donate $1 each week throughout the school year to wear jeans to work on Fridays. The money donated is provided to local charities and organizations. Bellefonte Area Middle School staff chose to donate their weekly jeans money to Bellefonte READS. The total amount donated was $1,026.00! The funds will be used to bring in author Dusti Bowling, who will be doing a special presentation just for BAMS students!

The Bellefonte Education Foundation donated $1,000 to be used toward the purchase of books for our "One Book, One Bellefonte" initiative. 

The Benner Pike Walmart approved us for a $1,000 Community Grant! The funds will be used to purchase books and other items for our "One Book, One Bellefonte" initiative. 

The Bellefonte Woman's Club donated $400. $200 was used to purchase books for the Little Free Libraries in our area.  The other $200 will be used to purchase dinner items for our literacy night. 

Robin Hood Brewing Company donated $282.66 via their restaurant night fundraising event! The funds will be used to purchase items needed for our literacy night event.

Pizza Mia donated 30 free pizzas for our community dinner.

Trinity United Methodist Church will donating over 20 AMAZING book baskets that were raffled off to guests at our Community Literacy Night. They also donated bags of chips for the free community dinner. Trinity has supported our program for many years and we are very grateful for their generosity!

Reliance Bank donated $250. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and other station materials for our literacy night!

The Bellefonte Kiwanis donated $250. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and other station materials for our literacy night!

Dotts Hamilton Tax and Accounting Services donated $200. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and bring in the author of this year's featured title! Find out more at www.DottsHamilton.com

Wegmans donated a $200 gift card. The funds will be used to purchase healthy food items for the community dinner provided to guests at our literacy night!

The Carnegie Inn and Spa provided complimentary accommodations for author Dusti Bowling. This significantly reduces the costs associated with bringing her in for our event! 

Doug's Rug Care donated $100. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and bring in the author of this year's featured title!

Bellefonte Family Dentistry donated $100. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and bring in the author of this year's featured title!

Bellefonte Weis Markets donated a $100 gift card. The funds will be used to purchase items for the free dinner at this year's Community Literacy Night.

The Bellefonte Moose Lodge donated $100. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and bring in the author of this year's featured title!

The Sunrise Rotary Club donated $100. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and bring in the author of this year's featured title!

The Bellefonte Knights of Columbus donated $100. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and bring in the author of this year's featured title!

The Bellefonte Elks donated $100. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and bring in the author of this year's featured title!

The Bellefonte Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #448 donated $100. The funds will be used to purchase books for book baskets and bring in the author of this year's featured title!

Sheetz donated a $100 gift card. The funds will be used to purchase items for our book basket giveaways.

The Bellefonte Area Education Association donated $50. The funds will be used to put together a gift basket for our community literacy night.

The Bellefonte Wok donated two $25 gift cards. The cards will be added to our book basket giveaways at our literacy night!

A Step Beyond Massage Therapy donated a 30 minute massage gift certificate worth $50. It will be added to one of our adult book basket giveaways at our literacy night!

Hide & Seek Prenatal Peek donated $25. The funds will be used to purchase books and bring in the author of this year's featured title!

Pep Boys donated a $25 gift card. It will be added to one of our adult book baskets!

Trader Joe's in State College donated paper bags. Guests will use them to take home books at our community literacy night.

Barnes & Noble in State College donated an adult book basket for our literacy night. 

The State College Spikes donated a book basket for our literacy night. 

Bellefonte Elementary, Marion Walker Elementary, and Bellefonte High School each donated a book basket for our literacy night.

The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Milesburg donated 15 cases of water for our community dinner.
