The SAT is a standardized college entrance assessment designed to measure skills and knowledge students may need to be college ready.  Student knowledge and skills are measured in the three areas:

In March 2014, the College Board announced that a redesigned version of the SAT would be administered for the first time in 2016. The new exam will revert to the 1600-point scale, the essay will be optional, and students will have three hours to take the exam plus 50 additional minutes to complete the essay. For 2017, the SAT® will be administered in paper & pencil format.

ISBE SAT School Day Updates:

Based upon feedback we received from many of you last year, we have developed the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Coordinator Handbook. The purpose of this handbook is to help prepare SSD Coordinators for requesting and administering accommodations for the SAT® Suite of Assessments. We hope this will provide additional guidance on requesting accommodations, details on specific accommodations and provide additional information frequently requested.

Testing Manuals: Testing Manuals have been finalized and posted on the ISBE SAT Webpage. Hard copies will be mailed with the pre-administration materials; however I know many of you like to have access early so we have worked with ISBE to finalize and have them posted. Based upon your suggestions and feedback, we have removed the state supplement used last year and all three of the posted manuals below are Illinois specific.
