Formal assessment of academics at the High School is mainly completed with the College Board's Suite of Assessment. In the fall all juniors are assessed with the PSAT National Merit Scholarship Qualification Test (NMSQT). As the name implies, the results of this test lead to qualification of National Merit Scholars. In Spring, 9th grade students take the PSAT 8|9, 10th grade students take the PSAT 10, and 11th grade students take the SAT. In addition, students enrolled in World Language take the AAPPL test, whereby students can earn the Seal of Biliteracy. In addition to the formal assessment with the College Board Suite of assessments, many students also participate in weekend testing with the SAT, or ACT college entrance exams. Another focus for testing at the high school is Advanced Placement (AP) Testing. Students participate in AP testing to earn college credit while still in high school. Finally, students who are English Language Learners, the ACCESS test is administered in Winter for all grades. Students who obtain a 4.8 composite performance level are slated to exit EL status.Â
