JUNIOR YEAR INFORMATION
Opportunites for Junior year....
Job shadowing -
This allows for the student to leave school and work with someone in the career field of choice. Interested students can stop in the Counseling Office for help with setting up a job shadow.
Junior Individual Planning Conference –
This is a meeting during 1st semester of Junior year with student, parent and Mrs. Schulting to discuss high school and career planning. A letter or email will be going to parents in late September / Early October.
Campus Visits -
College campuses all across Wisconsin offer opportunities to tour their facilities and classrooms. If you wish to visit a campus during a school day, take a College Visit Form from Mrs. Schulting and have it signed by the Admissions Office. Return to Laura in the main office for your attendance to be excused as a College Visit Day.
Early College Credit Program (ECCP) and Start College Now (SCN) –
Juniors and Seniors can take college level courses while in high school. These courses need to be approved by the district and are paid for by the district. To apply for ECCP or Start College Now, the application must be submitted to School Board for approval. Deadlines are October 1st for spring semester classes and March 1st for Fall semester classes. The applications are available from Mrs. Schulting or through the links in the "important date" document above.
PSAT (Pre Scholastic Aptitude Test) –
This is offered in October 15, 2025 at Barneveld. The cost will be $18/student. This test is good practice for the college entrance tests, ACT or SAT that students will take later this year. This test also can qualify the top scoring students for the National Merit Scholarship worth several thousand dollars. To register for the PSAT, students may sign up with Mrs. Schulting.
ASVAB -
Students interested in the military are encouraged to take the Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Test. This test is mandatory for those planning on service in the military and is highly recommended for those who would like feedback on civilian career fields for which they might have an aptitude. Military recruiters are available to provide further assistance and information during school visits.

It will be offered to all of our Juniors via the online format April 7, 2026 with makeup testing dates later in April. ACT prep will begin for our Juniors in late fall with our classroom teachers using an online resource called Methodize.
If you wish to take the test early or retake the test later to improve your scores, there are options to do so. Re-takes will not be paid for by the district. If you wish to register for additional test dates, go to the ACT website: www.actstudent.org.
Optional Fall Testing Date:
The ACT (with writing) will be offered at Barneveld on October 29, 2025 for $54.75
