Data In preparation for the online 2014-2015 Common Core Assessments, the Lake Geneva Schools has responded to the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium technology readiness tools survey in April of 2012.
Staff Technology Assessment
The staff technology assessment took place during the month of February 2012. Google forms was utilized to collect the survey data. Approximately 116 staff responded which well over 50% of our targeted group. Results of the survey indicated that in the past year, 72% of our staff had received between 5 and 25 hours of technology related professional development. 74% responded that they had adequate or somewhat adequate access to computers. 76% said they had adequate or ideal access to projection devices. 57% said they had adequate or ideal access to interactive whiteboards while only 6% claim to have access to a document camera. 74% had appropriate or somewhat appropriate access to curriculum-focused tools such as subject specific software. Staff indicated their desire to have more handheld devices for students in their classrooms such as student response systems, iPads, tablet, and phones. This is being addressed in Goal #2
Student Technology Assessment
Every spring, the 8th grade is given a technology assessment. In 2011 we took the advice of several districts and switched to the Next Generation Assessments Tools.
