01. Get Access to the AU Google Apps

Please browse to home.au.edu to get access to AU Google Apps.

Once, you logged in to the home.au.edu, you shall get a block displayed at the top of the left panel.

There are three links in the block.

Each link will bring you to its associated service as follow:

    • Gmail

    • Calendar

    • Doc

These are three basic services in the Google Apps for education. You can get access to other services after you open one of the services. When you click on each link, the browser will create a new tab and direct you to the service homepage.

If you want to know what happen in detail, here it is:

    • When you logged in to home.au.edu, your session is recorded into the home.au.edu website, not on the Google system.

    • When you click any of the Google service link in the website, the system will perform "Single Sign-On" process with Google and authenticate you to the Google system automatically.

If you browse to the Google service directly, such as GMail, it may redirect you to home.au.edu if you try to login with the university account.

NOTE

If you are using the system inside the university network, we suggest you to log in to network authentication page before you get access

to the AU Google Apps service. It is because the AU Google Apps services are actually hosting in the external network or let say they are

hosting at Google. So, you have to authenticate to the network before you can connect to the external link. To do that, just simply open

your browser and try to browser somewhere outside the university such as www.google.com, then you shall be redirected to the network

authentication page as shown
