How can I access to the AU Google Apps?

You can access to AU Google Apps via http://home.au.edu

Do I have to change web browser for using AU Google Apps?

Normally, you can use any web browser to use the AU Google Apps. However, Google claim that it will not support IE or Firefox in near future.

So, our suggestion is you should install Google Chrome as a web browser for AU Google Apps services.

Can I use mail client application like MS Outlook to fetch my Email from AU Google Apps?

Yes, you can setup your mail client application to get email from AU Google Apps via POP3 or IMAP service.

Can I forward mail to my another email account?

Yes, if you would like to use your another email account rather than the AU Google Apps account, you can forward all mails to your desired account.

I can login to home.au.edu but I cannot get access to Gmail via web browser

Please verify that you are already authenticate to network service. If you are not sure, you may try to open an external website such as www.google.com or www.facebook.com.

If you can browse to such website but still cannot browse to Gmail, please contact our support with extension 3333.

I can login to home.au.edu but I cannot send or receive email via mail client such as MS Outlook

Usually this problem arise because you are not authenticate to network. Please try to open a web browser and browse to external website to let the system redirect you to the network authentication page.

I have many machines and I use POP3 to download my mails to the machines, however, when a new mail has been downloaded to one machine, it will not be loaded to another machine, how can I do?

This problem is very tricky since it is a normal characteristic of Gmail. If you would like to use POP3 to download mails to many devices, you have to login as "recent" mode. To login as recent mode, simply put a word "recent" follow by colon (:) and then your email as your login name. For example, your normal login name is "abcd@au.edu", for the recent mode, the login name will be "recent:abcd@au.edu". However, our suggestion in case that you have many devices is using IMAP instead of POP3.

The Gmail cannot be open and the screen keep refreshing all the time.

This problem may occur if you forgot to log out from the Google system. We are using Single Sign-On system for logging in to the Google via home.au.edu. So when you click to Gmail or any other Gmail service after login to home.au.edu and you did not logout from Google system last time you use the system, the Google will confuse about the last session information and current session. In this case, please just browse to "www.google.com" and verify that you are not logged in. If you are logged in, please logout and login again via home.au.edu.
