Meet Your Online Team

As a co-instructor for an online course in Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, you may work with individuals in the following roles while preparing for and facilitating the course:

Program Coordinator /

Strategist

Faculty member who provides leadership and coordination for a specific degree, certificate, or other curriculum program housed in the college. Assumes primary responsibility for the rigor and relevance of the program and the role encompasses responsibilities related to program curriculum, planning and policies, scheduling and staffing, advising and student issues, marketing and recruiting, and program continuity.

Course Coordinator/

Designer

Faculty member who designs course content and materials as a subject matter expert. Maintains course materials on an ongoing basis.

Instructional Designer, Instructional Design Associate, Learning Technologies Specialist

Collaborates with program coordinators, course coordinators/designers, and lead instructors on all aspects of course design and delivery. Lends expertise and guidance during the design of course materials. Promotes alignment with quality standards established by the college.

Lead Instructor

The instructor of record who oversees the class offering. Responsible for management and collaboration with the co-instructors hired as the instructional team. Manages class content, delivery, and student experience. Communicates with program coordinator and course coordinator/designer to recommend course improvements and compliance with course, college, and university policies.

Co-Instructor(s)

A content area specialist hired as a member of an instructional team. Under the direction of the lead instructor, assumes responsibility for facilitating the learning of a group of students within a course by answering questions, facilitating discussions, grading assignments, and providing feedback on student work. Communicates with the lead instructor on student issues and course improvements.

Online Course Manager/

Coordinator

Coordinates staffing of online courses, including monitoring enrollments, processing hiring recommendations, and tracking performance of co-instructors. Communicates with lead instructors and co-instructors throughout the hiring and onboarding process.

Academic Advisor (Academic Success Specialist)

Works with students from the point of admission to degree completion to provide guidance on course selection, registration, and satisfactory academic progress. Works collaboratively with college and university units and services to facilitate comprehensive student support.

Success Coach

Engages students in a thoughtful and creative process that guides them to reach their full personal and professional potential. Employs quality conversation, effective listening, and meaningful exploration to focus students on academic achievement, goal setting, and overcoming obstacles.
